Interesting facts about Santa Claus

As I woke up one morning, I realized that the Christmas is coming in a couple of weeks now because of the cold breeze that is coming outside. What else what we think of before this event comes? Of course, gifts from Santa Claus. Children believe that Santa Claus will come in their house through the chimney and will give them gifts if they do well in a whole year. Though this is only a superstitious belief, many children still believed that there is really a Santa Claus.

So, where Santa really came from?

In the version of Santa Claus in the United States, Santa originally came from the Dutch version known as Sinterklass or Sint Nikolaas. The Dutch pioneers in New Amsterdam, New York and brought this lively and fun tradition, where some called it a cult, to Americans. This is the version of Santa Claus where given the present myth and its visual looks: A merry old man with white and red clothes. They said that Santa is flying together with his eight reindeer and later joined by Rudolf the red nose reindeer.

According to most of these beliefs, Santa came from North Pole and he was also known by entering houses through their chimney. All over the world, Santa Claus was recognized in many different names. In Canada and in the United States, his name was Santa Claus, which is we also used up to now. In China, he was known as Shengdan Laoren, while in England he was called as Father Christmas, where he has a longer beard and coat. In France, he was distinguished as Pere Noel and, in Germany, the toddlers get their gifts from Christindl, the Christ Child.

However, whatever the names we called him and wherever he came from, the most important thing to remember in Christmas is Christ Himself because it is the day when He was born and save us from our sins. Advance Merry CHRISTmas!
