My First Time in Boracay

First of all I want to thank all my bosses here in Go Travel Philippines, which is Mr. Ed Pudol, Mr. Zaldy Dalisay, Ms. Emy Jane, Mr. Carlo Carolino and to all the members of the team. Because of you I got the opportunity to go to Borocay :D Well this is really my first time to go to this wonderful place and one of the well-known tourist destinations around the world. In fact, this is not a vacation at all because we came here not to relax, but to work. Still, I felt excited on our stay in Boracay because as we all know this is a famous spot not only here in the Philippines but throughout the world.

From NAIA, we traveled for less than an hour going to Kalibo, Aklan. After that, we traveled through a van for almost two hours going to Caticlan. As we got in this place, we encounter a lot of fees like terminal fee, environmental fee and many other fees. So my advice for all first timers who want to visit Boracay, make sure that you have an added budget since there are really a lot of fees which you do not expect :D

From the terminal in Caticlan, we rode on Roro boat for a 15-minute travel to Boracay. From there, we rode a tricycle going to the hotel. Almost all of the hotels in this place will cost you too much especially during peak season. We checked in Boracay Courtyard with a Php 1,500 per night. The rooms were okay and they also have a hot shower that is not available in the other hotels.

We came there somewhat late at night and after we arranged our baggage, we went outside and this is also my first time to see the nightlife in Boracay. There are a lot of restaurants, bars and other places that you can choose from that you will surely enjoy. As my first nightlife here in Boracay, we went to an Indian Resto. The foods were all spicy, but we really did enjoy their foods along with Go Travel Team.

On early Friday morning, we begin to scout in various resorts in Borocay and we do our presentations to the owners of each resort. At my first presentation, I did not expect that I will get nervous, but this is really what had happened. Around 12 noon, someone offers us with free buffet lunch, since it was FREE, of course, we grabbed the opportunity, but the annoying part of this “FREE OFFER” is that we need to bear their 90 minutes presentation with regard to their hotel. We really have no choice at that time so we started eating. I just pick spaghetti, adobo and fish since they only have some couple of menus on their buffet. They started their presentation and to make the story short, we finished at around 2:30 p.m.

Next tip, if someone offers you a free buffet lunch while you are walking around in Boracay, it is up to you whether or not you will grab it. But if you loved FREE something then just go ahead :D.

We spent two nights and two days in Boracay and I really enjoyed staying there since it was my first time to explore it. This is a very great experience since Boracay is a world tourist destination and this is one of the most beautiful beaches worldwide.
